I have been boarding my thoroughbred gelding. C.D., with Marie at Cobbs Mtn Farm for 4 yrs. The exceptional care given to the horses, as well as to the farm itself is above & beyond. Marie’s long experience in the equine world provides the ideal atmosphere and peace of mind I was searching for. My horse has the perfect setting, never ending pastures as well as a stall if needed. As for me, a ring with great footing, open field riding and an occasional relaxing trail ride, need I say more!

I first began boarding my horse at Cobbs Mountain Farm while a student at Hollins University in Roanoke. As a Dressage rider, student, and owner of younger horse, Cobbs Mountain Farm was affordable, provided great services, and created a wonderful environment for learning more about the discipline of Dressage. I felt reassured that my horse would be well taken care of, loved, and safe while cared for by Marie. Cobbs Mountain Farm also provides a wonderful community of boarders who are more than willing to give riding and training advise as well as further look after the well-being of all horses. After graduating from college and planning on going to Graduate School out of the country, I know that my horse will be safe and have plenty of room in the spacious fields to exercise himself. I also feel reassured that Marie will keep me updated on my horse’s well-being and hopefully make the separation from my horse a little easier.

I boarded my first horse with Marie at Cobbs Mountain for 5 years before I left for college and kept a lease or two there during my breaks from school. The quality of care that Marie offers and the conditions of the facility are exceptional. With Marie, I never had to worry about anything. I knew my horse was being taken care of like one of her own. The ring/footing is great, the pastures are beautiful with safe fencing, and the barn is a stress-free and no drama environment. Since moving out of the area, I have had an extremely hard time finding a boarding situation that meets my standards; standards that were set by Marie! I wish I could move back home to Cobbs Mountain!

Are you looking for peaceful acres on which to ride? Cobb Mountain Farm in Bedford offers a stunning view of the Peaks of Otter from the riding ring as well as from the pastures. Dressage lessons are available from the owner who values continuing her education and growing her knowledge base and is also active in the local dressage association. I will always value the lessons learned while there and the rides in every season in which we were always in awe of the breathtaking views.

I’ve been boarding my horses at Marie’s farm for over a decade and have always been impressed with the high quality care she gives them. She treats them as if they were her own. There’s a lot to know about good horsekeeping and farm management. And Marie is experienced and knowledgeable in all the important aspects. Plus, she reads a lot and stays informed about the latest advances in training, supplements, pasture management, veterinary care, and more. I trust her judgment completely. She is kind and fair in the way she handles both the horses and their owners. Overall, my experience here at Cobbs Mountain Farm has been highly favorable and positive, and I’ve always felt welcome and valued, not just as a client but also as a friend.

The care my horse (an OTTB with some quirks) received for the years that he was boarded at Cobbs Mountain Farm was exceptional. Marie cares for all the animals as if they were her own. The grounds and pastures are well kept and fields are rotated so that the animals always have grass available. I continue to recommend Cobbs Mountain Farm to anyone who is in need of horse care in the Bedford, VA area.
